Tutorial on How To Make A Venus FlyTrap Out of Clay

Hello all! I want to share a small little tutorial that my son and I did together. As you can tell from my other posts, my children LOVE crafts involving venus flytrap. So I am constantly trying to come up with ways to make venus flytrap crafts. I also want to share them with you because finding flytrap crafts and tutorials on the web is extremely difficult! So my goal is to make it EASY to find tutorials on the web by putting some on there. :) Please keep in mind that he and I made this together and we weren't going for complete perfection and accuracy. It isn't the best looking flytrap but my son thinks it is the best looking one in the world and to me...that is all that matters! ;) I have included a supple list with pictures below. To find out more about the supplies I used I have given you directions to either click on the picture that will take you to a link regarding the product and then some of the pictures I took, you are too click on the blue wording to get more inf...

Venus Fly Trap papercraft

Hello all, It has been a little bit since I posted but I have finally finished with school for the summer and have some time on my hands to hopefully get some tutorials out and share them with you. I do want to share with you my son's venus fly trap origami paper craft that I did. I know the word "origami" may scare some of you! Trust me, it scared me because I have never done origami before. However, my son loves venus fly traps and we love to do paper crafts and so we were desperate because the internet doesn't have much as far as venus fly trap goes. I saw instructions on how to make this origami flytrap on youtube and the guy that shows you how to make this is absolutely incredible! I do want to recommend to everyone out there that it is a MUST that you buy real origami paper and it be 10x10 or bigger. I tried to use regular paper and card stock but neither of them work. Spending a little money on origami paper is so much better and doesn't waste your t...

Here is a craft that him and I did together and then played together later. Supplies matte board red and green acrylic paint paint brush black and green card stock paper Optional-Aleenes glue tack it over and over scissors glue (I used stick glue and super glue) laquer or some kind of spray to apply over finished product to protect it from chips  I cut a large circle (as big as I wanted the trap to be) out of the matte board. I then painted one side of the circle green and let dry then painted the other side red use left over matte board to glue on a handle for the child's hand to fit into on the top of the fly trap-paint it green let everything dry- while everything is drying, using the green card stock-cut out large triangles (as large as you want the...
