Badge Reel Designs

Back to Crafting: My New Obsession with Name Badge Reels

After a long break, I’ve finally returned to something that always brought me joy—crafting. Life got busy (as it does), and somewhere along the way, glue guns, rhinestones, and sketchpads were replaced with deadlines, errands, and never-ending to-do lists. But recently, I found myself craving that creative spark again.

Yes, those little retractable clips we wear at work. I used to think they were purely functional—boring, even. But now? They’re tiny canvases for creativity.

Now my craft room is covered in glitter, resin molds, charms, and vinyl decals. I’ve made badge reels with funny sayings, adorable characters, floral patterns, and even ones themed for different professions. It’s become a creative outlet, a stress reliever, and—let’s be honest—a bit of an addiction. I have included a few for you.

The best part? People love them. Friends, coworkers, even strangers have asked where I got mine. Some have asked me to make custom ones for them, which just adds to the fun. It feels amazing to create something small that brings a smile to someone’s face—especially in places like hospitals or schools where a little personality on a name tag can go a long way.

Getting back into crafts reminded me that creativity doesn’t have to be grand or perfect. It just has to be yours. Whether you’re painting, knitting, or decorating name badge reels, it’s about doing something that lights you up. I make these out of resin, glitter, and design the prints and print on water ink paper. :)

Free Minecraft Chore Chart & Award System with Printables

Hello, When it comes to chores in our house, it becomes a CHORE to get them to do chores-pun intended! They would rather play Minecraft all day long or just play all day long! Not only do they NOT want to do chores but they also think they should bet a toy everyday and in-between that comes candy every time we walk into the store. I had to figure out a system to get them to do their chores and make it a bit fun too. They need to learn responsibility in this world because you have to work for what you want. Yesterday, my 10 year old says, "mom, can I have this new star wars lego toy? It only costs $99." I said, "uh, no but you can save your chore money and buy it that way." He says to me-just as serious as he could be, "all you got to do is go to the bank and take it out or write a check and get money anytime you want." um.....yeah.....it doesn't work that way. The bank does not just give you money, you have to earn it and then put it in there....

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Papercraft

Plants vs Zombies Papercraft (Gargantuar) Hello all! I wanted to share a paper craft that I made with my oldest son for his 11th birthday last weekend. He is so sweet, he said that all he wanted for his birthday was a paper craft of his favorite character from PVZ Garden Warfare, Gargantuar.  He and I searched and searched and found a fantastic designer that designs paper crafts of all kinds. Visit his deviantart site HERE . His name is Jeff and his Deviantart name is Jepi12. Not only are his designs the best I have seen but he is absolutely wonderful to work with. He responds to messages quickly and really helped to make my son's birthday the best it could be. You have got to check out his designs. He has a design for everyone! Here is the design of Gargantuar that we did and then I will show you our finished project. My boys and I made the paper craft together. Here is a picture of the Gargantuar. Click on the picture and it will take you to Jeff's site. ...

Minecraft Sword Tutorial Using Wooden Blocks

The boys LOVE Minecraft and have gotten me hooked on it too! Here is a tutorial that my boys and I did together and it was so easy! I got the idea off of youtube from username, "Ihascupquake" She does a bigger version of the sword and I changed a couple of things. I also do mine a little different than she does her sword as far as color, size, etc. I've got many more tutorials of Minecraft goodies. Minecraft bingo, v-day cards, and many more that I want to share with you. This sword is made using 1/2 in wooden blocks that are painted and then glued together. The tutorial on youtube was made using 1 inch blocks I believe. I wanted to make sure they would like it and it didn't take as long as it did when we did the 1 inch blocks. Plus, it was a perfect size that the boys could choose if they wanted it hung on the wall or some other way. I have to say that sometimes our crafts that we make always end up with me making the rest of it while the kiddos go play but t...
